As we returned to the World of Coffee in Copenhagen this year, we at Tartine found ourselves brimming with excitement and anticipation. Having previously explored the vibrant coffee culture in Athens, we knew this year would bring new adventures, deeper connections, and fresh inspirations that would enhance our offerings back home in Prishtina.
Copenhagen greeted us with its characteristic charm—colorful buildings lining the canals, a thriving culinary scene, and a palpable enthusiasm for sustainability and innovation. The city itself is a testament to how tradition and modernity can coexist, much like the evolving world of coffee. As we wandered through the bustling streets, we were reminded of our mission at Tartine: to honor the craft while embracing new ideas.
One of the most fulfilling aspects of attending the event was reuniting with our friends from Antigua Specialty Coffee in Tirana. Their dedication to sourcing the finest Guatemalan beans has always inspired us, and our shared passion for quality and community creates a bond that goes beyond business.
During our time together, we exchanged insights on the latest trends in roasting and explored ways to collaborate more closely. We even participated in a tasting session, experimenting with new flavor combinations that could soon make their way into Tartine’s menu. The synergy between our teams reminded us that great coffee is not just about the beans but the relationships we build along the way.
Another highlight was meeting the team from Danesi Coffee, the esteemed Rome-based roastery from which we source our beloved beans. Their commitment to excellence and craftsmanship resonates with our values at Tartine. We had the privilege of attending a masterclass led by their expert roasters, who shared their philosophies on extraction and flavor profiling.
Learning about their meticulous approach to roasting reaffirmed our own practices and inspired us to delve deeper into the intricacies of our brewing methods. The discussions we had about sourcing, sustainability, and the future of coffee were invaluable, further enriching our understanding of the industry.
Embracing New Trends and Techniques
The World of Coffee is a hub of innovation, and Copenhagen did not disappoint. We explored emerging brewing techniques, sustainability practices, and new technologies that are shaping the future of coffee. From cold brew innovations to advancements in espresso extraction, the knowledge gained was both exciting and enlightening.
One standout workshop focused on the importance of traceability and how it impacts flavor. Understanding the journey of coffee from farm to cup is crucial, and we’re eager to apply these insights to better connect our customers with the stories behind their favorite brews.
As we wrapped up our time in Copenhagen, we left with more than just new knowledge and friendships; we gained a renewed sense of purpose. The experiences and connections made at the World of Coffee will undoubtedly influence our practices at Tartine, inspiring us to continue exploring the vast world of coffee.
We’re excited to share what we’ve learned with our team and, of course, with you—our valued customers. Expect to see new menu items that highlight the flavors we encountered, special tasting events featuring our friends from Antigua Specialty Coffee, and innovative brewing techniques that elevate your coffee experience.
In conclusion, our journey back to the World of Coffee in Copenhagen was a vibrant reminder of the community and creativity that fuels the coffee industry. We’re grateful for the friendships rekindled and the new ones forged, and we look forward to bringing the spirit of this experience back to Prishtina. Here’s to more adventures, unforgettable brews, and the passion that unites us all—one cup at a time!
